Fabrice Boé, Member of the G+J Executive Board and Director G+J France, Paris

Fabrice Boé has been at the helm of Prisma Presse since July 2005, having already served as the company’s Publishing Director Women’s Magazines since March 2004. In January 2006, Boé became the first French member ever appointed to the G+J Executive Board.

Fabrice Boé spent 16 years working for L'Oréal, most recently as Managing Director Worldwide for Helena Rubinstein, then for Lancôme, before leaving to join Hermès International in the same capacity. In the process, he gained comprehensive, international expertise in developing and coordinating high-end brands and managing creative partners and employees.

As CEO of Prisma Presse, Boé is now in a position to combine a defining personal passion with his professional ideas: reading. “My house is full of paper,” he says.


Tom Buhrow, ARD-aktuell Tagesthemen, Hamburg

1958 in Siegburg/Troisdorf geboren, begann seine journalistische Laufbahn beim Rhein-Sieg-Lokalteil des „General Anzeiger“. Er studierte an der Bonner Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität Geschichte und Politikwissenschaften.

Nach dem Examen volontierte er von 1985 bis 1986 beim Westdeutschen Rundfunk. Im Anschluss, von 1986 bis 1992, arbeitete er zunächst alls Redakteur für das WDR Fernsehen und später als Reporter und Chef vom Dienst für die „Aktuelle Stunde“, die er auch moderierte.

1992 wechselte Buhrow als ARD-Reporter in die Tagesschau-Redaktion des WDR und ging dann 1994 als Korrespondent nach Washington. Ab Januar 2000 war er als ARD-Korrespondent im Studio Paris tätig. Im Juli 2002 wurde Buhrow Leiter des ARD-Studios Washington. Seit dem 1. September 2006 moderiert Tom Buhrow die Tagesthemen.


Rob Covey, Managing Editor/Creative Director National Geographic, Washington D.C

Rob Covey joined the staff of National Geographic as both Managing Editor and Creative Director for NGM.com in February 2007.

Covey came to National Geographic from Discovery Communications, where as SVP for Content and Design, he led the creative and editorial team that developed Discovery.com and its many Web properties, including the Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, the Travel Channel, Discovery Health, the Science Channel, and Discovery Kids..

Previously, Covey spent almost 13 years as the Design Director of U.S. News & World Report. He has also been the Art Director of the Seattle Times, the Arizona Daily Star, and KAET-TV, a PBS affiliate in Phoenix.

He is a founding member and past president of the Society of News Design, now a 2,500-member international organization that seeks to promote good news design in newspapers, both in print and online, throughout the world. His work includes leading redesigns of several U.S. newspapers, including the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the Charlotte Observer, the State (Columbia, S.C.), the St. Paul Pioneer Press, as well as the New York Daily News.

Howard Geisler, SVP, Global Relationship Leader Digitas, London

Howard is a recent recruit to the Digitas Global team in London and will focus on the development of multi-national clients.

Prior to Digitas, Howard joined Saatchi & Saatchi in the role of Worldwide Managing Director. Howard was responsible for the setting the strategic vision for the Interactive practice in addition to managing global operations.

Howard’s interactive marketing career started 12 years ago at the Bank of Montreal when his team launched North America's first internet bank. In 1999 he joined the agency world with Wunderman/Y&R Inc where he founded the their Canadian Interactive practice. In 2002, he joined the Wunderman UK in the position of EMEA Interactive Practice Leader. In this role, Howard led the Motorola business globally with a focus on digital marketing digital marketing and communications. In 2004 Howard took on the role as Chief Digital Officer for Wunderman Germany, based in Frankfurt.

His experience spans a variety of sectors in both the B2C/B2B space including telecommunications, FMCG, automotive, technology, financial services, travel and mobile phones.

Mustafa Gözalan joined Dogan Media Group (DMG) in 2000 as the VP of Strategy and Business development. He became an Independent Board Member of DMG and Dogan TV Holding, a subsidiary of Axel Springer and DMG in 2005. His major undertakings as a VP of the DMG were within the following areas:

Since 2005, Mustafa Gözalan has been engaged in restructuring and developing the TV and New media assets of the Dogan TV Holding. He is the moderator of the innovative DTH digital TV platform recently established in Turkey.
Mustafa Gözalan used to be one of the Partners of Arthur Andersen & Co and a founding member of the Business Consulting Division of the Firm until year 2000. He initiated many diversified business services in the consulting field and played a pioneer role in establishing the consulting profession in Turkey. Just before his leave from the company in 2000, he had been appointed to a team in the Global Communication & Entertainment Industry program of Arthur Andersen with a regional managing responsibility in the Emerging Countries.

Julia Jäkel joined Bertelsmann AG in 1997 as part of the Bertelsmann Entrepreneur’s Program, which resulted in her being sent to Gruner + Jahr in Hamburg, Europe’s biggest magazine publisher. She worked as managing editor for the people magazine GALA and, in fall 1999, she joined the founding team of FINANCIAL TIMES DEUTSCHLAND (FTD), where, among others, she introduced the luxury supplement HOW TO SPEND IT to the German market.

Since 2004 Julia Jäkel is executive publisher of Brigitte, Germanys leading women’s magazine, and responsible for Brigitte group including the monthly magazine Brigitte Woman, Brigitte Balance and Brigitte.de.


Tomasz Jozefacki, Head of Internet Division, Agora SA, Warsaw

Tomasz Jozefacki joined Agora S.A. in Warsaw, Poland in September 2004. He serves as head of Internet Division since June 2006. In this role Mr. Jozefacki’s is responsible for development of the country's major portal Gazeta.pl.

Previously, he had served as head of local branches at the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper with responsibility for the country's leading daily newspaper's 19 regional sections.

Between 1999 and 2004, worked in New York at The New York Times Company, where was oversaw the marketing and promotion at the number one newspaper-owned Web site, NYTimes.com. Beginning in 2002, led the development of the Business and Technology verticals of NYTimes.com, two of the most revenue-generating areas of the site.

From 1996 to 1999, served in various marketing and advertising positions at Cain Associates and the International Advertising Association.

Mr. Jozefacki holds a degree in Japanese Studies from University of Maryland, College Park, a B.S. degree in marketing and international business ('99) and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business ('02).

Stefano Mazzitelli, Head of International Wholesales and Broadband Services Telecom Italia, Milan

Stefano Mazzitelli was appointed Head of International Wholesale and Broadband Services on January 22, 2007.

Mr. Mazzitelli began his career with AT&T Italia, where he worked from 1987 to 1996, initially in Italy as Director of Marketing, and later with AT&T International in the US as Associate Director of Global Strategy

Promoted to Vice President, Strategy of AT&T EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), he took over responsibility for Marketing Strategy in Europe and Development of the company’s offerings in the region.

In 1996, he joined Olivetti/Infostrada as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. In this role he was in charge of fixed-line and mobile long-distance services strategy, marketing analysis, market segments and targeting, and planning and development.

Mr. Mazzitelli joined Sprint International in 1997 as Executive Vice President, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

He joined Telecom Italia in 2002 as Head of International Wholesale Services. On January 1, 2003 he was appointed CEO of Telecom Italia Sparkle.

Müller von Blumencron wurde 1989 Redakteur bei "Capital" in Köln und wechselte 1990 als Korrespondent zur "Wirtschaftswoche", zunächst in Zürich, später in Berlin.

1992 kam er zum SPIEGEL ins Ressort Deutschland II und wurde 1996 dessen stellvertretender Leiter. Im Oktober 1996 ging er als Wirtschaftskorrespondent des SPIEGEL nach Washington, seit August 1998 berichtete er aus New York.

Kim Reid, CEO MIH´s Mobile TV Plattform Naspers Group, Cape Town

Kim Reid began his career with Naspers in 2000. He was the chief financial officer of MultiChoice, before being appointed the chief executive officer of M-Web in 2003.

Dr. Horst Stipp, Vice President Primary and Strategic Research NBC Universal, New York

Dr. Stipp is Sen. Vice President, Strategic Insights & Innovation in the Research department of NBC Universal in New York where he oversees strategic marketing and consumer research for NBCU, including NBC, News, Sports, USA, SciFi, Bravo and NBCU Digital.

Stipp received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University and has been involved in media research for 30 years. He teaches at Columbia University’s Business School on audience measurement methods. His publications, in English and German, cover a wide range of topics. Recently, he has written in journals and contributed to books on the development of the media in the digital age and he has co-authored articles on the impact of Olympic sponsorship.


Geoff Sutton, General Manager MSN EMEA, London

Geoff Sutton is Executive Producer for the MSN Media Network in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He has overall responsibility for Microsoft’s MSN Content and Portals strategy and initiatives.

In this role, Geoff is focused on building the MSN brand, delivering entertaining content for MSN’s extensive audience in EMEA and growing creative inventory for digital advertisers and ultimately, revenue for the MSN Media Network. In addition, Geoff spearheads community and industry initiatives. This work has included partnering with NGOs and government on online child safety, working with industry to combat spam and ending pop-up and pop-under advertising on MSN sites, to provide customers with a safer and more enjoyable online experience.

Geoff began his career at Microsoft 11 years ago when he joined a fledgling MSN team of just 20 people. In 1997, he launched MSN News, an online news and information site that pioneered the use of roving "cyber-reporters". He then became Director of MSN UK, where he led a number of high profile initiatives and saw a 55% increase in revenue and 41% increase in the number of UK digital marketing clients for the same period.

Prior to working in the Internet business Geoff was a Fleet Street journalist. He was a showbiz and news reporter at the Daily Mail and news reporter at the Daily Mirror, before becoming news editor of the Sunday Express and then Today until its closure in 1995.

With half-brother Dieter and half-sister Monika Schoeller, inherited publishing house, Verlagsgruppe Holtzbrinck, from their father George who founded it in 1948. Each owns one-third. Stefan took over the management of the company from Dieter who retired in May 2001. The $2.4 billion (sales) company owns renowned German newspaper Die Zeit and publishing houses including Henry Holt in New York and Macmillan in London. A lawyer, Stefan apprenticed at Bloomsbury Publishing in London before joining Holtzbrinck in 1994.


Simon Waldman, Director of Digital Publishing, Guardian Co. UK, London

Simon Waldman joined Guardian newspapers in 1996 to work on some of the company's earliest forays onto the internet.

He was launch editor of Guardian Unlimited in 1999 before moving into general management and becoming the company's first director of digital publishing in 2001. Guardian Unlimited has been named best daily newspaper on the net for the last five years in the UK newspaper awards, and recently won the newspaper category in the international Webby Awards ahead of the New York Times and Washington Post.

Simon received the Chairman's award at the 2004 Association of Online Publishers' Awards ceremony for his contribution to the industry.

Recently appointed as Group Director of Digital Strategy and Development at Guardian Media Group, Simon will work to create a coherent digital strategy across all the group’s media divisions. In September 2006, Simon was appointed Chairman of the UK Association of Online Publishers (AOP).

Before joining Guardian Unlimited Simon was a freelance journalist specialising in media and technology.


Patrick Walker, Director of Video Partnerships EMEA Google/Youtube, London

Patrick Walker joined Google in January 2006 to lead the development of content strategy and partnerships for Google Video in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He has over 15 years of experience in the media industry, including his tenure as General Manager of International Video Services for RealNetworks, where he was instrumental in launching Real's first premium audio and video services in Europe, Asia and Latin America, as well as developing direct-to-consumer broadband video products with partners such as UEFA, BBC Worldwide and Channel 4.

Patrick began his career as a TV producer for Japan's public broadcaster, NHK. While in Tokyo, he produced and directed award-winning educational and documentary TV programmes and participated in the launch of the world's first HDTV channel. He later joined BBC News as a Senior Broadcast Journalist in Japan and South East Asia. Returning to London in 2000, Patrick accepted a role with TWI's management team to launch one of the earliest 'converged' web and TV services.
